I think we can all agree that 2010 was an interesting year. The economy improved some, but certainly not as much as was projected. There were struggles and successes alike. Pure Water Technology, Inc. had some challenges but overall can say it was a very strong year.

We brought in some investors which allowed us more financial flexibility. This opened up opportunities to place units in companies that traditional finance companies wouldn’t approve. We understand that sometimes companies don’t quite fit all of the required criteria but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are not a good customer.

We rolled out our “Meet Pete” marketing campaign which gained traction almost immediately. Pete is cost effective, healthy, safe and green. If you haven’t met “Pete”, ask us for a free trial. Pete is a great addition to almost any organization and will work for pennies a day.

2010 saw Pure Water Technology, Inc. double in size, adding customers such as Union Pacific, South Coast College and Bausch and Lomb.

Looking forward into 2011, Pure Water Technology, Inc. plans to continue to expand. We are still looking for hard-working, motivated sales people who are looking for a great opportunity with a great company. If that sounds like you or someone you know, we’d love to hear from you! Contact us today.

On December 20, 2010, Fox News LA reported that in a nationwide survey of tap water samples from 35 metropolitan areas, Environmental Working Group found that Riverside CA ranked No. 3 in hexavalent chromium content — or chromium-6. Why does that contaminant sound familiar to you? Perhaps you’ve seen the movie “Erin Brockovich” where this same substance made headlines.

Just a few days prior, news broke of water contamination in Indio CA. There, the culprit is perchlorate which is a chemical used in rocket propellants, fireworks, matches and more. 120 homes were told not to use their tap water for anything other than showers and washing. They can’t drink the water, cook with it, make baby formula with it or give it to their pets.

Water is such an important part of our every day lives and yet we tend to take it for granted, assuming it will always be there and always be drinkable. The reality is that things happen and the only way to be really sure that what you are drinking is pure is to monitor the quality yourself.

Since bottled water isn’t regulated, it’s not always the safest choice. A water purification system that truly removes these contaminants in your own location is the most complete solution. Pure Water Technology has the best point-of-use water purification system. For real peace of mind, visit www.ditchthebottle.com.

According to Time Magazine (Oct. 14, 2010) Canada has declared BPA a toxic substance, both for the environment and for our health. Other governments have not taken this strong stance, and the United States FDA states that its regulatory framework limits its ability to regulate BPA. See Dr. Mercola’s article for more information.

So what can we do? Armed with information, we are able to make our own decisions regarding what we put into our bodies and our environment. We know that BPA is in our plastic bottles. While it may be difficult to eliminate all products that use BPA, we have options available to us that can help us limit our exposure. Using a water purification system instead of bottled water is a great start. Pure Water Technology is on the cutting edge with array of systems. With a variety of systems available to serve all sizes of companies, PWT strives to be your answer for healthier employees, a healthier environment and a healthier bottom line. Why not join thousands of companies such as the Irvine Company, FedEx, Toshiba, and Volcom and “ditch the bottle.”

You know, Halloween isn’t the only time that we see creepy, scary things in our offices. In our travels throughout Southern California our reps have experienced a number of bottled water horror stories.

Bottled water coolers are a fertile ground for things that belong in ghost stories, but not our water. One of our reps was on an appointment talking to a potential client about the differences between the bottles and Pete. She was explaining how Pete is a closed system so things from the outside environment can’t get in. Little did she know that her point was about to be proven. At that time, the bottle they had on their cooler was empty so they took it off to look inside. What do you think they found? That’s right…a roach crawled out of the reservoir that holds the water. They cancelled their bottled water delivery that day and became a happy Pure Water Technology customer. Pete doesn’t let unwanted visitors in.

Do you have a bottled water horror story? Do you have bugs in your water? Green slime growing in your cooler? Share it here!
